Easterhoull Chalets have been providing self catering accomodation for nearly 30 years. In 2009 Sarah Kay and Laurence Williamson became Easterhoull's new owners, with Sarah taking on the management role. It is their aim to continue the good reputation of Easterhoull Chalets and are dedicated to providing high quality self catering accommodation for all their visitors.

Location - Set within the ancient capital town of Scalloway, Easterhoull Chalets are the perfect choice for relaxation. Situated on an elevated hillside, the chalets offer breathtaking views out over Scalloway harbour, the castle and the stunning coastline beyond. There is adequate car parking facilities for guests.

Our Chalets - We have 9 chalets available to let. The chalets have been awarded a 3 star grading from Visit Scotland. Each chalet is comfortably furnished and equipped to a good standard catering for a maximum of 4 guests. With 2 bedrooms, 1x double room and 1x twin room, living area with kitchen and shower room. Please note that one of the twin beds is slightly narrower than a standard single, making it ideal for children. There is a laundry on site for guests to use and bed linen is provided.

There is no disabled access, and a flight of steps to get to the chalets. You can contact us using the form on the right if you have any questions about access.

What's Nearby - The centre of Scalloway is only a quarter of a mile away and, to make things easier and more enjoyable for visitors, purpose built steps direct from the chalets to the bottom of the hill have been put in place. Situated in Scalloway are 2 licenced grocery shops, post office, hotel and excellent fish shop, which offer a wide choice of provisions. The local hotel offers a good selection of meals including seafood freshly caught each day.


Getting To Lerwick - With a central location Easterhoul Chalets are the ideal base for visitors who want to do a bit of exploring. The main town of Lerwick is just 5 miles away where you can find a range of shops, restaurants,hotels and visitor attractions. For those without transport, Shetland offers a good public transport network with local buses passing at the top of the road just yards from the chalets.

What To Do & See - There is no shortage of opportunities for those looking to be adventurous or active. The costal location supports sea fishing and sailing. For the keen fishermen, if sea fishing is not for you, Shetland has over 300 freshwater lochs where wild brown trout are there to test your skills. For bird lovers, Shetland hosts some of the most renowned seabird colonies in Europe. Birds such as Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Fulmars, Kittiwakes and Shags can often be spotted on the cliffs of Shetland. For wildlife lovers Shetland is a brilliant place, all year round, to spot many different species such as seals, otters, porpoise and if you are lucky, killer whales.

Walking In Shetland - The rugged terrain offers endless opportunities for walking. If you want a challenge, why not try the hill behind the Chalets. Shetland offers some of the finest walking in Europe. The combination of dramatic coastal scenery, lochs, deserted beaches and hills galore. The walker has the rare opportunity to discover ancient historical sites, dating back to Neolithic times, observe a wonderful array of wildlife - flowers, birds and mammals.

Golfing In Shetland - Golf is well catered for with 3 interesting and challenging courses located throughout Shetland. With the long daylight hours, you can keep playing til late through the night.

Easterhoull Rates

Easterhoull Chalets are self catering accomodation which can sleep max of 4 people. Each chalet is the same size and condition. There is no miminum stay and long term lets are welcome. Electricity is included in the price for all stays of 2 weeks or less. If staying longer than 2 weeks, electricity is charged at a rate of 15p per unit. Bed linen is included. A deposit of £100 is required to place a booking and the balance is due 4 weeks in advance of the arrival date. If placing a booking within 4 weeks time the full payment will be due at time of booking. We would strongly recommend the purchase of holiday insurance.

  • Nov to April: £45 per night
  • May and Oct: £50 per night
  • June to Sep: £55 per night

For stays of 1 night add £5.

These prices include bedding and towels for up to 4 peolpe, and unlimited use of wi-fi internet.

Long Term Lets: Longer stays are popular for winter time (Nov - end April). For further information, please contact us.

In addition we can offer a basic food package for an extra £25 to be delivered to your chalet the day before arrival if required. This would consist of local shetland products where possible, including bacon, eggs, milk, butter, bread, tea, coffee and fruit.
